Square Enix say "Dragon Quest X/XI" NOT confirmed for NX

According to reports across the gaming web, Square Enix have reportedly released a statement in which they "CORRECT" earlier reports which stated that the next two instalments of Dragon Quest would get a release on Ninty's new system.

The statement mentions that the two games release on the NX, was only "under consideration" and that it was in no way confirmed!

Original Quote (http://nintendoenthusiast.com/):
Our press release contained the official statement that had been originally planned, and there is no reason to believe any changes were made mid-way to the content of the official announcement. The comment made during the event was not based on the official statement, so please allow us to correct our statement at this moment. We regret any confusion this may have caused.

Now, what does this mean then, well lets look at the facts... Its fair to say that the announcement by Square Enix came as a surprise to everybody. Whilst Nintendo confirmed NX as a platform they did not officially announce it as a successor to the ill-fated Wii U... Why is this relevant? Well its pretty obvious, Square Enix initial statement implied that NX WAS a new console.

This all means that this partial retraction from the Japanese company was probably due to a few words from Nintendo, letting them know they got a little ahead of themselves.

Of course they could also have just made a genuine mistake.... but Im inclined to believe it is because of theory number one.... what do you guys think!
